Gotong Royong 2005

‘Gotong-royong’ or communal free labour is a part of Malaysia’s rich heritage. NEC Semiconductors Malaysia on September 24, 2005 organized a Gotong Royong in aid of Sek Keb Kampung Medan, Telok Panglima Garang under a foster school program.

Activities undertaken by NEC employees who volunteered for the project were painting of classroom, planting of trees and minor building repairs. Mr. Nazammudin Mahaudin, Assistant Senior Manager of NEC Semiconductors Malaysia Administration Department and Head of the project hoped that, by showing genuine concerns towards young Malaysians, NEC is setting a good example to the students and that this will encourage more corporate bodies to participate in similar activities.
